Founded in Signal Hill, California in 1958, Porter Boiler Service has been the region’s specialist boiler contractor through every generation of SCAQMD regulation. We have watched each round of NOx limits tighten, advised clients through every compliance cycle, and installed the certified equipment that replaced systems that could no longer operate legally.
Our team of licensed boiler mechanics holds a B General Contractor license with a C-4 Steam/Hot Water Classification and ASME R-Stamp certification for pressure vessel repair.

Emissions Compliance
The South Coast Air Quality Management District amended Rule 1146.2 in June 2024, adding zero-emission requirements for commercial water heaters, small boilers, and process heaters across Southern California. Compliance deadlines are phased between 2026 and 2033 depending on your equipment type and building category — and many facilities are closer to their deadline than they realise.
